Where else in San Diego County can you find such a fun & friendly crowd, all in the quaint  
&  welcoming atmosphere of an old English pub?  

We may not take ourselves too seriously, but we definitely take our beer, our food, and our
music seriously.  You'll find an extensive collection of Beatles photos and memorabilia
here.  And of course you'll find all the original Beatles CDs on our jukebox, as well as many
other rock favorites, both classic & new.  
We're famous for our Fish & Chips but, in addition, you'll find almost 50 items on our
extensive menu, and over 30 imported beers available, many on draught!   Pacifico, Sierra
Nevada, and Blue Moon are some of the latest additions to our draught lineup.  
Of course you'll see most of the beers you would expect in a British pub; Real Guinness,
Boddingtons, Genuine Harp, Bass, Newcastle, Smithwicks, Stella Artois, Strongbow, &
many more.

Our large covered outdoor deck is perfect for smokers, or those who just want to enjoy the
wonderful San Diego weather.   And, when the weather is less than perfect, we'll crank on
the propane heaters for you so you can drink more cold beer!

Please join us at 9 on Thursday, August 12th, for Alfie's
farewell party.  We'll really miss you Alfie, but we wish you
the best in that nasty, horrible place where you've chosen to
live, Maui!  Poor guy...Good luck to you Alfie!

"For a pub that's a tribute to a great rock band, you sure don't have much live music".  Trust
me, we've heard it before, but all that is changing.  
We'll have a different band playing on most Saturdays.
On August 14 The Blackbyrds return with their upbeat
renditions of classic Beatles tunes.  This time they'll start a
little later than usual, at 7pm-10pm.

On Aug 21st the lovely Patric Petrie & the Bad Blokes will
return to offer their upbeat versions of Irish & Celtic music,
made all the more enjoyable through their incredible mastery
of their instruments.  They'll start early, at 4pm, so come
enjoy them with an early dinner.

Then on Aug 28th, for the first time at Penny Lane, we
present The Blue Moonies!!  with a unique blend of Reggae,
Rock, & Funk.  We think you'll really like these guys!
They'll be playing later, from 9pm to midnight.
Come check out our great, new weekend specials on Bloody Marys,
and Mimosas!!  

We've recently added Buzztime Trivia and Texas Hold'em at Penny Lane, and they're available whenever we're open,
not just one night a week'!  Ask your server for a free Playmaker remote control, and test your wits against those at
other tables, or across the country!


The Golden Tee machine has now been upgraded to the HD big-screen model.

Penny Lane's new economic recovery program is now a reality.  with quite a few delicious items on the menu for less

On Tuesday's we feature Karaoke Night with Craig of N.Y. Beat DJs & Entertainers.  This always brings a
great crowd of music lovers.  Craig has tens of thousands of songs available for you to sing.  The best part is that

We've always taken pride in the quality of all of our menu entrees at Penny Lane, especially our Fish & Chips, for which we use
only cold-water cod.  Brandie & our chefs have frequently sent back shipments of fish if they weren't up to our tough
standards for freshness & taste, and we never resort to frozen fries, our Chips are fresh-cut every morning.  That's why our
customers often tell us we have the best Fish & Chips they've ever tasted.  However, like so many of you, we became
concerned to recently hear about the dangers of trans-fats in frying oils.  So we started testing alternatives to trans-fat oils,
and we've now found an oil that offers great taste and has no trans-fats.   Penny Lane is now the first restaurant in San
Marcos to switch to oil with zero trans-fats.   Because even though we have some great salads, you can't eat salad every day.   
With that sort of a healthy change in your diet, you can probably afford to have another beer now!

Now approaching our seventh year as the owners of Penny Lane, I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of our
good friends, our loyal customers, and to our new customers as well.  It's been a blast, thanks to you, and we look forward to
seeing you more often as we improve Penny Lane for your enjoyment.   
In the past six years, rather than cutting costs, Brandie has painstakingly worked to improve the quality of our menu items.  
If you haven't recently tried our Fish & Chips, Shepherd's Pie, Meat Pies, or Bangers, you're in for a pleasant surprise.  
Our customers often come from other states, and even other countries, raving about our great food.  And lately it's been difficult
to keep some of those items in stock.   As always, we will be introducing new entrees to our menu from time to time, so please
ask you server what's new.  
The restaurant business is a very competitive one.  One doesn't have to look far or long to see restaurants that have gone the
way of the 8-track tape.  We feel very fortunate to be your pub of choice, and we pledge to give you top-quality food at fair
prices, the best drinks available, and personalized, non-corporate service from the best staff anywhere.  So please come on in
