Where else in San Diego County can you find such a fun & friendly
crowd, all in the quaint & welcoming atmosphere of an old English
pub?

We may not take ourselves too seriously, but we definitely take our
beer, our food, and our music seriously. You'll find an extensive
collection of Beatles photos and memorabilia here. And of course
you'll find all the original Beatles CDs on our jukebox, as well as
many other rock favorites both classic & new.
We're famous for our Fish & Chips but, in addition, you'll find
almost 50 items on our extensive menu, and over 30 imported
beers available, many on draught!   Bayhawk Hefeweizen and
Hoegaarden are some of the latest additions to our lineup.
Of course you'll see most of the beers you would expect in a
British pub; Guinness, Boddingtons, Harp, Bass, Newcastle,
Smithwicks, Stella Artois, Strongbow, & many more.

Our large covered outdoor deck is perfect for smokers, or those
who just want to enjoy the wonderful San Diego weather.   And,
when the weather is less than perfect, we'll crank on the propane
heaters for you so you can drink more cold beer!

We're about to celebrate our 14th year in business in September, and our 4th year as owners, but we're starting the
celebrations early with our newly expanded HAPPY HOUR, starting soon. We want to thank you for your patronage,
and we recognize that times are tough, so the length of HAPPY HOUR will be increased by 100%!! Now, instead of
going from 4-7, you'll see discounted prices from 1-7!

September Saturday Parties
Dust off your dungarees, and raid your folks closets for those paisley shirts, you'll need them for our SIXTIES
PARTY on Sept 6th.   Those in proper attire will enjoy *Penny drink specials (2nd drink for a Penny) from 7 PM to 9
PM, and prizes will be awarded at midnight for the most authentic, most outrageous, and most appealing costumes.
2 of Us +1 will be providing us with a very sixty-ish soundtrack for the occasion. Also, Rob says to "please
remember that most liberated women in the 60s didn't wear bras".

On Sept 13th you'll have a chance to relive that fateful night famous for the loss of virginity, PROM NIGHT!   This is
Rani's & Jeremy's idea (I wanted to go with a pimp & ho night). So get out that fancy dress & that tux or suit, and get
ready for that memorable photo. Johnny Y., our karaoke-master will be DJ-ing. Now don't dance too close! Those
dressed up will, again get *Penny drink specials from 7 to 9, and prizes will go to the best outfits.

For Sept 20th you'll get to dust off your REALLY old outfits for our MEDIEVAL / RENAISSANCE PARTY.
This is a period many people now romanticise but, when they mentally transport themselves back, they always
think of themselves as part of nobility, rather than as a mud-slinging serf - which is what most people were.
But hey, that's okay, it's always more fun wearing the accoutrements of wealth in any age. Maybe future
generations will imagine themselves in our time driving Hummers & Ferraris, but I digress. Once again, those
dressed up as a Duke, Duchess, Earl, Earline, etc. will get *Penny drink specials (2nd drink for a Penny) from 7PM to
9PM, and prizes will be awarded at midnight to the most authentic, the most outrageous, and the most appealing
costumes. The Blokes will be providing us with something very close to a medieval soundtrack.   Please leave your
swords at home.

We really hope you will come out and join us for these events, they should all be a lot of fun!! We will also be giving
away shirts, glasses, & other items every weekend with trivia questions, Name-That-Tune, and more.

We've always taken pride in the quality of all of our menu entrees at Penny Lane, especially our Fish & Chips, for
which we use only cold-water cod. Brandie & our chefs have frequently sent back shipments of fish if they weren't
up to our tough standards for freshness & taste, and we never resort to frozen fries, our Chips are fresh-cut every
morning. That's why our customers often tell us we have the best Fish & Chips they've ever tasted. However, like
so many of you, we became concerned to recently hear about the dangers of trans-fats in frying oils. So we started
testing alternatives to trans-fat oils, and we've now found an oil that offers great taste and has no trans-fats.   Penny
Lane is now the first restaurant in San Marcos to switch to oil with zero trans-fats.   Because even though we have
some great salads, you can't eat salad every day.   With that sort of a healthy change in your diet, you can probably
afford to have another beer now!

-Our Kitchen Is Now Open Until Midnight every Tuesday, through Saturday night with delicious appetizers, soup, and
more.

Join us for KARAOKE NIGHT every Tuesday.   It's always a great, fun crowd.

*Penny drink specials will be offered only to those dress for the occasions on September 6th, 13th, and 20th
between 7PM & 9PM, just as Happy Hour is ending. During these hours your 2nd drink will cost only 1 penny! They
will be limited to draft beers, well drinks, or wine of similar or lesser value than the primary ordered drink.

As we move toward our fifth year as the "new owners" of Penny Lane, I want to take this opportunity
to say thank you to all of our good friends, our loyal customers, and to our new customers as well. It's
been a blast, thanks to you, and we look forward to seeing you more often as we improve Penny Lane
for your enjoyment.
In the past 4 years, rather than cutting costs, Brandie has painstakingly worked to improve the quality
of our menu items. If you haven't recently tried our Fish & Chips, Corned Beef, or Coconut Shrimp,
you're in for a pleasant surprise that many others have recently discovered as well . Lately it's been
difficult to keep those items in stock. As always, we will be introducing new entrees to our menu from
time to time, so please ask you server what's new.
The restaurant business is a very competitive one. One doesn't have to look far or long to see
restaurants that have gone the way of the 8-track tape. We feel very fortunate to be your pub of
choice, and we pledge to give you top-quality food at fair prices, the best drinks available, and
personalized, non-corporate service from the best staff anywhere. So please come on in and help
